A Day Late...or so

Ok, so I didn't QUITE make it...

But, here is Motif 25! (#59 on the year!)
This is Eileen Stafford's snowflake "2000", and took a bit longer to finish than I anticipated...but it's done now, just a day (or two) late. :)

So, that's done. Phew.

I'm considering taking a tatting breather until the New Year in favor of things I've been neglecting lately like reading books, cleaning the house, and and folding laundry (although stopping at 59 on the year might bug me, I might have to do one more motif to hit an even 60...we'll see. :)

I know there is a new TIAS to look forward to in the coming days, so for sure any breather won't last long, but I keep track of how many books I read each year and my 2013 totals were way down from previous years...as an avid reader that makes me really sad...

Oh well, here's to balance in the New Year! :)

  1. I hear you! I used to be a voracious reader! And collector of books - I had thousands of them, but that changed when I moved just once too often and could just not bear to relocate them again so I sold them! In the days before the e - readers that was easily done! Now I don't have books in my pad, just in my iPad!

Also, I find I am really critical about what I read. If the book is not good I ditch it right away and do not waste time on what I don't like! This is a new development and I like it! But, also sadly, the quantity suffers, as I consume far fewer books a year since the shuttles appeared. : (

    1. I totally understand about moving and books! I have pared and pared my collection...I'm now at "bare bones" at just over 700! Even with a Kindle and iPad, there's nothing like a real, paper book. I have a hard time not finishing any book I start, but I'm getting better...still, I have a hard time justifying reading--it's such a solitary pursuit--when I could be tatting, which allows me to be somewhat social...depending on what pattern I'm working on... :)
